A single mode fiber pair that starts in an a rack cabinet inside the datacenter where your infrastructure is located and ends in another rack cabinet.
The length of the fiber is maximum 10 kilometers. It is a passive physical unmonitored layer that can cary any protocol and any speed that supports 'single mode fiber'.
